Sustainability Pilot Project with the Young Coaches and Sustainable Westchester
Sustainable Westchester is a local nonprofit, delivering climate solutions to the governments, businesses, organizations and people of Westchester. Together Sustainable Westchester, in partnership with the Young Coaches, will run a pilot initiative aimed at advancing smart energy usage for residential energy customers. The Young Coaches will learn about environmental justice and reducing pollution with Sustainable Westchester’s GridRewards app and be equipped to share this information with the community.
Families participating in Sustainable Westchester’s GridRewards can earn an average of $80 annually. This also creates a fantastic chance for the Young Coaches to engage in sustainability efforts and fundraise. By promoting the GridRewards app and using the special referral code, the Young Coaches would receive a $10 referral fee for every family that signs up.
What to Expect:
- Sustainable Westchester Training for High Schoolers: Get an overview of the electricity grid, peak energy management strategies and info on how local high schoolers can implement a carbon emission reduction program in their community. (Trainings can be done throughout the summer, on zoom or in-person)
- Preview marketing resources to amplify your GridRewards campaign. From yard signs to giveaways, we’ve got you covered with marketing materials to help spread the word!
- Discover ways to share: Whether online, at school events, or through the community events, find your best method to inspire others. We’ll have plenty of examples that you can use at your events.
- Progress: We will share the link you will use to earn rewards and track your club’s progress.
